I had a quick scan up and down - the bit that jumped out at me was "While starting up your car at 75 F, mid-winter in Florida".

Me too. But caught sight of a recommendation 10-60 for racing ferraris which is what I put in my "racing" (haha) HF!

Tim, I think you may have to read a little more as there are a few recommendations and as ever 'it depends' as far I could understand (yes I did manage to read most of it before going for a coffee break).

It is a shame it is written in such a long winded and serious, text book style as the points he is making are quite interesting, especially the comments about oil going off just standing around in the garage/engine, and the issue when starting from cold about using a lower viscosity (at low temp) mixture to reduce startup wear on the engine.

Also the test at the end makes the whole thing feel like a pre run to a published paper for academic use.

Anyone fancy producing a summation in say 20-40 lines?

I just did a cut and paste into Word - its 17,500 words over 38 pages.

All very well but, should I still be using Comma 20/50 (£9.00 a Gallon) in my Gamma ?

That's the right spec for a Gamma on a Thursday afternoon between tiffin and cocktails.  More than that I can't say without running the numbers with the Met Office and McClaren.

I wouldn't bother with Mclaren, I sent them an idea and they couldn't be bothered to reply.
