The Latest Auto Italia has a feature on the Y10. I must qualify as a Y10 nerd but I think the article rather damned the Y10 with faint praise. I felt it implied the Y10 was just a rebodied Panda produced as an Autobianchi and badged as a Lancia outside Italy because the rest of Europe wouldn't know what an Autobianchi was. LMC got a credit for helping with pictures though. The writer says the Turbo even had electric windows and central locking which completely misses the point of the rest of the range as spec'd up city cars. Still, any recognition must be welcomed.

Hi All

I am also a bit of a Y10 nut  Grin and didn't think much of the Auto Italia piece.

If you managed to get a copy of October's Retro Car Magazine, there was a far better Y10 feature.... my car!!

Thanks

Hi Dave

I spotted Retro Cars the other day and bought it because it had your Y10 on the cover. It's a great piece on a great little car - you must be well pleased with it.

Hi Lee

Thanks for your comments. Yes I am very pleased with it. A very long road...

Nice to see there are still others out there with Y10s.

If you want to read more about my project, there is a thread on the fiat forum at the following link http://www.fiatforum.com/other-fiats/219506-light-end-tunnel.html

Cheers

I loved Y10.

I ran a Touring (with option pack) as my first ever company car (a demonstrator). It was fabulous. C246 SCF

Then I had a Turbo (D901XAN) which, like all Turbos, was a pig to start (until you found the knack) and gave me about 22 mpg (not great for a 1 litre car) but I used to cane the thing, and play catch me if you can on the motorway with the SD1 Rovers at the time... ahh the mid 80's were a great time.

I lost my licence for a month in 1990 in a Y10 GTie Sad Got done for 104mph on the M40 on the uphill from High Wycombe to Beaconsfield. The policeman who stopped me said that they weren't expecting a little car to be going that fast. Maybe my reply of "oh, you should try the Turbo, they're far quicker" didn't help my case!
