If you are interested, this month's Auto Italia, August (174), features 2 club members with a new Delta and an Ypsilon (the only diesel Lancia in the UK?) that have been imported into the UK. It appears the Ypsilon is keeping Lancia afloat and is due a facelift in 2011. If you are thinking of importing then conversion of the lights and speedo are the main problems but Mark Robbins of Superveloce has experience and the expertese.

I think that there are a few more than one!  Both the cars in the article are diesel.  My Lybra SW is also a diesel.  There was also a black Ypsilon (formerly owned by Peter Baker) in the UK which was diesel, though I am not sure if it is still in the UK.

I'd LOVE to import a Lancia as my next car, was thinking either diesel Musa or Ypsilon, 2003-2004 (ish) but not sure if the Ypsilon is a "girly" car? Loved the article in Auto Italia, it was hugely informative!

I think Peter Baker would argue with the 'girly' bit....  He drove one for a couple of years!  I had a chance to drive Peter's Ypsi for a journey from his home in Worcestershire to Silverstone and back, and its a very stylish car, inside and out.  Couldn't have lived with LHD long term though, and the 1.3 diesel multijet engine seemed only just adequate (but would probably make even more sense in the Republic where, if I remember rightly, diesel is even cheaper than petrol?).

I had a 2005 Ypsi and loved it. Nobody dared to call me 'girly'!

cheers guys. I quite like to look of the Ypsilon, very stylish little car, my "girly" comment was basically just thowing the question out there to see who thought what  Grin

& yep your right, diesel is cheaper here than petrol, can be as much as 15c per litre difference!

Have been looking into importing a used Lancia for a while now, originally had been thinking bigger petrol Lybra or even K Coupe, but with the costs of fuel ever on the increase a small diesel could be the way to go!

Driving a modern(ish) Lancia is great I have a1997 Ypsilon and if i need a part I just go to the loca motor factor and get it, it shares most mechanical parts with a Punto Sporting, after driving older Lancia's for a good few years it's a joy to get the spares so easily  Smiley

I take it by having Girly looks you mean the latest shape, not really that bad, but that is the market it's aimed at in Europe, I still prefer the earlier shape. nothing girly about that, if you do go for a diesel have a drive and see what it pulls like at 1500 rpm, my Grande Punto with the 75BHP diesel was dire, and had the potential for leaving you sitting in the middle of the road with something bearing down on you, while waiting for the engine to get above 1500rpm, I know the 90bhp version is not the same, but I'm not sure which version is fitted to the latest Y's, once out of that range it was fine, pulled well and returned mid 50mpg, the 90 bhp version funnily enough is better on fuel than the 75bhp.

Just came back from France last week and stopped of in a Lancia Dealer near Tours to look at the Delta. All the Ypsilon literature and displays there were certainly aimed at women.

Certainly looks like a girly car to my eyes.
