September 2008 with a booking on the French LMC rally and the Seilers coming over from South Africa, Modestine could not be readied so, at the 11th hour Chavdar Popov's Thema was purchased. As yer do!  Roll Eyes

The intention was to sell it immediately after the trip to France but hey! I still have it! And, what fun its been. However, she's not getting a great deal of use now and the Fanalone gearbox needs an injection of cash so, time to move her on. I know! I know! I'll regret it but needs must.

So, if you're interested please do get in touch.

Robin.

Hallo Robin.  Tacky to talk about money - however, I'm going to be tacky! What price are you looking for for the LS?

Hi Lindsey,

Difficult one. She is in very good overall condition and performs strongly but occasionally idles too fast, The front of the rear arches need repairing. The interior is excellent including the driver's seat!

Would like to see around £1000 or is that too optimistic?

I'll try and find time to post some more photos.

Hi Robin. £1000 is fair enough I would have thought. Why not try an ad on Pistonheads? One on there recently went for £1500 or so within a day or so of advertising - and recently another went very quickly. They are sought after these days as so few left. I can#t justify until the SL goes, but once that does   Grin

Dont suppose the Theis in the pic is for sale for £1000?? Tongue

Thanks Lindsey. I'm off to France for three weeks this coming weekend and I'll give it a go when I return.

Sold on Ebay for £560 but the winning bidder immediately refused to pay and collect. Second time that's happened to me recently. Seems to becoming more prevalent these days and Ebay appear powerless (or more likely unwilling) to do anything about it.

However, Got a new MOT yesterday so will re-list it.

Robin,
 Not good news.

For all Ebay say that they protect the buyer and seller, as far as the Seller is Concerned they won't take any action if the buyer fails or refuses to complete, even though they state it's a legal and binding agreement, but you can list the item again.
It's even worse now that the Seller can no longer give a negative feedback, this is now only available to a buyer, which doesn't seem right somehow.
When I sold the Mercedes the buyer turned up without any extra money for fuel, so I let him pay me £20 short which he promised to send as soon as he got home, about half a dozen phone calls and texts later, and despite him insisting he had sent it, with only a couple of bad experiences over the years, and this was the first item I'd sold, something I don't think I'll do again with anything worth more than £50-£100.

Well, all's well that ends well I suppose - the Thema was collected on Sunday by the winning bidder and his mate who he had passed it on to.

His mate turned out to be a Lancia fan who has been a club member in the past and who's brother served on the committee a few years ago. Some members will remember him as he used to import and sell Deltas etc.

Down to just the Dilambda and the Fanalone now which Margaret thinks is a vast improvement!

Hi Robin,
Pleased it's gone after all the mucking about.
Did you ever check to see if the bulb out warning was what I suggested it was?
