Has anyone had experience of removing a headlamp glass from a Renault headlamp, to refit to a Fulvia Zagato lamp?
A friend is having great difficulty and has doubts of removing it short of gelignite Shocked

I have suggested perhaps a Dremel with an appropriate thin disc cutter.

It is a long time ago but I soaked in thinners for a few hours & slowly scraped the mastic off & re-sealed with bath type mastic.

But there are probably better ways!

Some years ago I fitted Ford Escort headlamps to mine: I think Mk1. Some of them had rectangular headlamps which are the same dimensions as Fulvia Zagato but not convex. They may be easier to come by than Lancia ones.

The Escort was launched 17th Jan 1968 with circular headlamps on de-luxe while the Super and GT shared the oblong variety. Try Escort Owners Club.

thinners does work, we usually put the lamp face down in a tub of it over night and poor a little inside the reflector area, silver polish works a treat on the reflector also, good luck and be patient
