well what a day, matty brought his beloved appia to my garage today, it took him over an hr to do a 10 min drive!!!, everytime he met a hill the old girl would just quit and give up, but would restart and carry on a few hundred yard futher, anyway we new matty's tank was on its last legs as it regulary needs a fuel filter ............ pretty much everytime you put fuel in it!  Cheesy, he'd had the good sence to send another tank off for repair for which he paid 30 gbp, this sounded too good to be true and it surely was as all that had been done was a quick coat of satin black paint on the outside , the split in the bottom next to the drain plug had been left!!! Shocked anyway father to the rescue AGAIN!!! he repaired the tank whilst i removed the old 1, replaced the rotton fuel pipes to the tank and to the fuel filter, blew all the crap out of the fuel lines  fitted a new fuel filter, took the bottom off the electric pump to check for muck, anyway the tank returned repaired but needed drying out as it had been filled with water to repair it and to test for leaks, luckily my hoover can be used to blow for some reason to so we used that to dry the tank out, swapped the tank unit over and refitted the new tank, after putting a gallon of fuel in and checking for leaks we filled the tank up again and matty took her for a run and warby is back to life again Grin
