Martin,

Thanks for the reminder, but sorry to say I have to be at a boring committee meeting so I won’t be there to savour the delights of the autumn evening light and bonhomie of the Ace Cafe car park.

Hope it goes well.

Colin

erm, that's not strictly true, Martin!

Good to meet up with yourself, Mark, Mike and Vernon again.
Also nice to see a Trevi in the car park. Apparently the owner's name was Theo (hope I got that right!).

Ciao
Richard.

Yes that's right  Wink I was there in the Trevi adding to the very low Lancia turnout numbers (I made it just 3? Integrale, Monte and Trevi) even though I was there with some Fiat friends who both turned up in yellow 124 Sport Coupes (first series-AC and second series-BC).  Sorry I didn't get to speak to you guys; I just had a quick chat on my way out with Mark (? I think - I am bad with names....). I think the Alfas had the best turnout last night although the Fiats were close - I couldn't be bothered to count. There was a lovely little white Autobianchi A112 which I suppose it's the predecessor to the Lancia Ypsilon so maybe we can count that as another Lancia  Wink Grin

Apologies again for being seemingly unsociable but I didn't know who any of you were and I think I was the only one wearing a Lancia T-Shirt? I promise to bore you with my chatting next time....  Grin

Ehhh Richard, but which bit's not true? there WERE 3 integrales, you ARE from the south west, and you WERE there!!

Sorry to have missed you Theo, perhaps you can make it next month? and to the xmas do?? You're right it's a pity there were only 3 Lancia cars but there were 6 people.

and good to see Richard Carr made it all the way from the south west !

.......sort of gives the impression I actually drove up from the South-West (home) to London for the Meeting. Truly above and beyond the call of duty! I only had to drive from Wokingham. A lot closer, I think you'll agree.
Other than that, correct on all counts.

Having a LANCIA table-flag is definitely an idea worth pursuing, so as to avoid further "where are you?" moments.

I do like the Ace as a meeting place, but I do wish they would do something about the abysmal lighting, particularly as they advertise it as the place to come and see the cars.
Something not that easy on a winters night.

sorry Martin Sad
Not trying to sabotage the London meeting, on the other hand the conversation is excellent, and the food isn't that bad either!

It really is very important in running a local meeting that new attendees are able to identify you and are made welcome. Back in the early 90's I went to my nearest local meet, was completely ignored by the not insignificant number of members there, and never went back again.

How about the organise(s) putting a sign on their dashboard with their mobile phone number so new attendees can track down the Lancia group?

Frank, I've already got the Lancia table flag sorted, but good idea about the mobile numbers. In practice there's a lot of hanging around outside at the Ace, (actually looking at cars!! very unusual for an LMC regional meet) so we tend to catch most people ... well usually.

I'll see what I can do about the lights Brian.

I did indeed Duncan.
Nice pub too, although I got lost trying to find it!
If I'm still working in Berkshire, I may see you again next month.
