Only just got round to watching "Rush" , really enjoyed it, some excellent sequences and some gory bits.

A really good scene with a 2000 being driven by Niki Lauda whilst impressing "the girl". But the continuity-editor in me says that you cannot change gear that quickly in a 2000  (slightly stubborn 'box), even if you are Niki Lauda .... but they do handle as well shown !

Not perfect but recommend !

Ah yes a 2000 not a Flavia...... Although it has Flavia underpinnings.... And who knows if that box hadn't been fettled just for film... My 5 speeder in my (Fulvia) sport which is 180,000 miles young is surprisingly fast compared to all the other (Fulvia) 5 speeders I have driven.

I was taken by the thought that the gear stick in the film 2000 cameo was longer that in real life?Huh?

Smiley's People (currently being re-run by BBC). Episode 2 about 12 minutes in Smiley goes into a phone box to call a mini-cab. A passing red Beta Coupe is reflected in the glass. When he gets into the mini-cab there is a blue Gamma Saloon in the background (not there when he gets out!).

Alan Cooper sent me this one,not very good quality but very evocative; interesting as the pass is the way I came home from Turin in 2006, but it had obviously changed, although I did recognise one place which I thought was Pinarola.
Have a look at the large gent sitting onthe right in a dark overcoat about 10 minutes 10 seconds in, could it be Gianni  Lancia?

I don't know if this link has been posted before......

Every model of Lancia in various films, mainly just in the background though but a few have more prominent roles.

Over the last 10 or 15 years I have chatted to Chris Rea at 1996 various race meetings, usually about racing, occasionally about music and very oiccasionall7y about his film La Passione. I have always thought the music in the film was great, even the Shuirley bassey song which he dislokes, but I had never seen the film. At the Goodwood Revival 4 or 5 years ago, we were in the Goodwood Hotel at the bar having a quiet drink together and I felt I could ask him where I might be able to get a copy of the film hacvuing failed to find anything previously on the internet. He told me that even he didn't have a copy! And that he actually disliked the final product so much as it had been hijacked by Warner Bros that he hoped it wouldn't be released on DVD.
At this years Revival we were in the same race and opposite each other in the paddock and he took great delight in telling me that he had bought the rights to the film and he wa

Ooops! Hit the wrong button.
........and he was reworking the soundtrack and film selecting the best bits for re-release together with some unseen footage and also a lot of new footage from Wolfgang von Trips family.
I have got my copy now which comprises 2 CDs. 2 DVDs and a large book and the is an Aurelia B20 featured in the footage shown whilst 'Girl in a Sportscar' is playing on DVD1. There might be more Lancias on Film  - I have only watched selected bits so far.
Of course most of the car footage is Ferrari of the early 60's but nevertheless it is all very atmospherice together with Chris' music.
Well worth a look I reckon if you are into 50's and early 60's Italian cars and fashion.

Sorry. I didn't get a chance to proof read my first post today.
The original La Passione was released in 1996.

Never noticed it before, but early in 'Dr. No', as Felix Leiter pulls out of Kingston airport to follow Bond, there is a beige Aurelia Spider in the parking slot opposite to him. Top down of course.
