I've no doubt there are many out there already very 'au fait' with this - but what is the best way to get breakdown cover abroad for my Delta, for my forthcoming trip to the Republic?

Well so do I  Grin, so I'd better ask them before I pay anyone else.  My other obvious point of call is, I guess, to see what I'm covered for with Footman James.

Chris,

My AA cover didn't extend to Europe when I needed it to but my Footman James policy did.

On the way to Classic Le Mans in the Fanalone last year we suffered a massive transmission failure which left us stranded on the motor way. FJ did us proud, organising everything, paying for the motor way recovery, B&B, hire car and return of the Fulvia to England 10 days later. Can't speak highly enough of the service we received.

Robin.

Like Robin, I never bother with any other recovery here or abroad as the Footman james insurance covers you, and going by Robins experiences with them and his Fulvia HF on the trip to Le Man Classic, you shouldn't need anything else.

I've just received notification from FJ that from March FJ cease to be a Limited Company, and will become a trading name of Aon Ltd, just hope that's all it will mean, although I know others are happy with them, I've never had much luck with quotes or what they would cover.

I've just had the most pleasant surprise quote to renew with FJ (with all the goodies).

A shade over £600 for 5 cars including 2 1600 fulvias and a 2 year old e class!

I cant recommend them highly enough - albeit I was never going to use them after a silly quote for my first Fulvia some 6 years ago, but when you have a few they are really competitive.
