Beta Coupe 2000ie tweak?

I am thinking of tweaking my 1983 beta coupe 2000ie with a power boost valve, for the fuel pressure. Does anyone know if this will make a difference on the injection model, or is it designed for the carb version?
I have also seen a set of lower springs for a very reasonable price, but seem to remember reading somewhere you have to change the shocks as well. Has anyone done this, and if so, what shocks would I need to get?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
