Hi folks.

I'm after a Front Lower Crossmember for my HF Turbo. I believe the part number to be 82409904

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, it's the only thing stopping me finishing the front half of the car!

Thanks - Chris

Hi Chris,
Sorry I can't help but I agree on the part number, eper shows it was also used on integrale as well.

It also says part no longer in production and alternative not available, so you might have to look for a good one on a scrapper, certainly seems worth checking people like Walkers, Bob Brain Developments,L & M, Auto integrale,Car Craft Scotland ltd, John Whalley,Prestocar,Tanc Barratt, etc that appear on the freebee listing on the forum, if you haven't already done so.
Good luck.

Thanks Brian, i shall give a few a try, though it may be a struggle!

I already have most of the panels, but this is one that could fox me completely. It's either that or i drill the spot welds (or whats left of them) and get one made.

Oh well i'll keep trying!

Not that this helps, but the part number 82449551 superceeds 82409904. This is only the back half of the crossmember, the other half being the complete front panel.
I'm sorry to report that I sold the last one that was available from Fiats warehouse Italy. there are still a few front panels left (82435928). These were last sold on the 4th of this month. You missed them by a few days.
I've checked the recent movements and can tell you that Walkers Garage also got one before me in Jan. they may still have it.
Ph 01 609 777221 ask for part number 82449551 and it will not be cheap !!

I have a new front panel for the car, it's just the box section that is welded to the front thats the problem. I'll try Walkers and see what they say, i'll let you ll know!

I'll find one in the end, i'm determined! (or i'll get one made!)

Thanks for the advice - Chris

Right then Folks, a quick update.

I rang Walkers and the panel was indeed in stock and was duly ordered. It arrived today, but to my great dissapointment (and expense!) was wrong. (My fault for not checking i suppose!) As it turns out the orignal part number (82409904) was the correct part number, the part with the number 82449551 being the late Integrale Evo crossmember, which i'm now the proud owner of! It's a completely different shape in the centre, i assume the section was modified to clear the 16v exhaust and Turbo.

The lucky part is the ends are the worst parts on my car, and these appear to be the same, so i'll attack it with a grinder and make 1 from 2!

Thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated.

Many moons ago Lancia superceeded these part numbers so that the later panels would fit all models, but the earlier part numbers would only suit 'pre evo' cars. As stock of the earlier part run out only the later part was available. You always had to fit both front panel, and crossmember together to make it work. Unfortunatly you were a little late in that we bought the last stocks of the crossmember, while Walkers bought the last of the front panels.
You never would have gotton the early part numbers, as they only existed as a 'number', the actual part was always the later panel. Glad it worked out ok, I did mention it would be expensive.
