Hi all... I have a series one zagato which has what looks  like a gp4 exhaust but has a silencer in the centre under the car and another at the exhaust exit.
The car is semi-track prepared and so is lower than standard so the centre silencer can cause ground clearance issues.
The question is have is, should  there even be a centre silencer or should they both be towards the rear?
Many thanks
Nigel.

The centre silencer is normally transverse and in the area provided near to rear axle.

the centre silencer is normally transverse  as  Richard  Fridd says and there should be a heat shield in front of the axle indicating location. Gp4 tended to have a more pancake  silencer mounted to the side

Ah i see... interesting..  I think i have a versi0on of this  one

https://shop.historicracing.de/en/p/complete-group-4-exhaust-system-stainless-steel-fulvia-all

Except,  the small  silencer is under the middle of the car.
By the looks of this photo,  they should both be at the back.
I'll see if mine has been fitted incorrectly.

Thanks again cheps

I haven’t but I’ll give them a call tomorrow .
I guess it doesn’t matter as long as it fits.
Where mine is lower than standard, if I’m carrying a passenger, sometimes over bumps, the axle comes up and takes the exhaust with it and causes the end pipe to knock on the rear valence. All the joys of a modified car I suppose . Smiley
Thanks again for the info
