Martin Cliffe kindly let me have his spare gasket which has been fitted and is on my car. James P also offered to let me have his spare - but I do feel the need to get one or more made.
Don Williamson and Martin Cliffe both suggest using Johnson Gaskets of Bradford. Although I am told that Italian gaskets are not good at keeing oil and water where they should be I do have an unused Cavalitto gasket which I would propose sending as a pattern if Mr Johnson no longer has a pattern.
Is there anybody else who is interested in having a gasket as if there is to be more than one made I would like to have an idea so can discuss discount for quantity....
Please let me know either by a post on this forum or by e-mail to michael.elsom@btopenworld.com

I had one made by Mr Johnson in 2020, an excellent job and if you do make a batch would be interested to put one in stock. He may well have a pattern from the one he  made for. me. It was copper + asbestos replacement type.

I am fairly certain that Johnson keeps no records, he will copy what you send him.
I believe that some variations from the standard gasket have been made in the past, best be agreed on what to send him.

Sorry it has taken so long to progress this idea but recent developments have galvanised me into action.
At the present time I have the following interests:
Mike Clark 1 gasket
James Parry provisionally 2
Dale Hicks 2
I propose sending Mr Johnson the gasket I have just removed from what appears to be an unmodified engine as a pattern.
If anybody else is interested or has ideas to throw in the ring please let me know asap.

I would be interested in a gasket, or two if not too costly.  Still must locate an engine for my project, but a gasket seems a good start  Wink
