Hi, can anyone advise on a material or a tool that could used to check the fuel level by putting it down the emulsion tube of a carb.
Its a Solex C40 PAAI.
The workshop manual suggests using sight-glass that screws into base of float chamber - but I'd have to make one as none available.

I use a narrow cable tie marked with a datum which lines with the top of the emulsion tube. The fuel wicks into the serrations of the tie. Accurate to the serration interval.
