Has anyone any suggestions on how to refix the electrical connections to the demister element on the rear screen.I seem to remember reading of an adhesive many moons ago but am unable to find any reference now.

Hi David

I hope you and your vehicles are well.

Found this on eBay which may do the trick.

Hello David,
On my Montecarlo, I super-glued the insert from a large-ish piece of "chocolate block" connector onto the glass. Then had a springy strip of metal in one end with its tail pressing against the contact area of the element. The wire went in the opposite end. It worked fine.
When my car body was being restored, I removed all of the glass and when a car window fitter came to glue them back in again I asked if he could solder the tag back on and he did. Its not very pretty but it works.
I had tried practice soldering on a Delta rear window glass but could not get it to take solder even though I used flux and a powerful iron/gun. Not sure what the guy did.
My fear was that the glass would shatter with the heat but it didn't.

I have a photograph but cannot find it just now.

That's interesting Leo, worth experimenting with a spare screen I have.
