Hi!

I'm about to begin electroplating all my Appia coupe's engine nuts, bolts, brackets etc.

Does anyone know for sure exactly what Lancia used please?

I suspect zinc with a clear finish, and not the yellow passivation, so poular among restorers.

Any help (apart from suggestions to replace them with stainless fasteners!) will be much appreciated.

Kindest regards,

when i stripped my s3 now bear in mind its 1 of the last (within 100 of the end of production) all the engine nuts and bolts were silver cad plate and all the suspension nuts and bolts were copper plated, my car is a bit of an odd ball but totally origional when i bought it, but just remember that until fiat took over lancia there isn't really a right or wrong as most of them are different 1 way or another, hope this helps jp

Dear James,

Many thanks for replying which is a lot more than the other 156 viewers ventured!

My Appia was built before Fiat came into the picture, and I reckon I'm going to stick with clear zinc until someone in a deerstalker says otherwise.  (I thought they knew these things.)  Roll Eyes

Hi Guy
I agree with James

Engine nuts and bolts were silver cad plate and all the suspension nuts and bolts were copper plated.
