Hello all, this is a first post..

After a 2000 mil cross EU trip with a newly purchased 1969 Flavia Coupe, the ignition system started to degrade to a non starter here in Malta. A change of condenser resolved the problem (purchased from Omicron for the distributor) however, the condenser was not an exact like for like replacement & subsequently rubbed against the rotor of the distributor, damaging both the rotor and the condenser. Luckily, I had purchased an electronic ignition system where, I'm looking to install this weekend & bring the car back on the road once more.

To complete the upgrade, I'm in need of getting no.1 piston to TDC & do not know where to start when it comes to;

A. Finding the timing marks on the flat 4 2000CC boxer engine
B. A location to crank the engine

Any photos & advice offered would be warmly welcomed on the above notes and things to consider when carrying out the upgrade. I'm also considering upgrading the Coil to something that may deliver a higher voltage- are there any recommendations at all?

Thank you so much to all here involved & with regards from Sunny Malta!

I feel there's an article waiting to be written Adam, regarding search, purchase and subsequent 2000 mile/km trip, they always make a good read and would be welcomed in Viva Lancia!

Am sure help regarding your query will be forthcoming

Thank you Frank / Parisien !

I've drafted something similar as sent to my ex race driver uncle back in Malta- who would be best to receive it for the article mentioned please (Sir!)?
