Smiley Tomorrow 20th April is DRIVE IT DAY 2008 sponsored by FBHVC all owners of classic/historic vehicles are asked to take them for a drive or if not on the road push it out of the garage onto the drive.

Lets see if we can get lots of Lancias out and about.

I drove a 1.3S Fulvia, a 1.6HF, and a 1600 Sport but that was Friday as I had to move them to a new home while it was dry. As the sun came out today I also moved my Ducati 748S enjoying the first ride of the year - and saw absolutely no classics on the road during the 20 mile trip.

I saw loads of bikes and cars of all types and ages in Surrey today, but only one Lancia, one lovely black Aurelia B20 in Hampton around 5pm.

I took the Fulvia out this morning and saw loads of Land Rovers on the Midlands Land Rover Run and a large group of MX5s.

Reflected in the shop windows in Muswell Hill Broadway today, I saw a really nice early Fulvia Sport! It looked as if it was enjoying an outing to celebrate long awaited Spring sunshine and the prospect of a season of good events. It could also have been prompted by the FBHVC drive it day.

I would imagine the Aurelia was returning from the Aurelia lunch - we saw a long line of velocepeds (sp??) proceeding at a gentlemanly pace along the roads of Derby.

I managed to get out later in the afternoon and saw a mint Ford Cortina Mk1, a Ford Cortina Mk2, a Ferrari 308 and a Moggy Minor but no Lancias.

Not quite the 20th but on Saturday the 19th I was out competing in my 8-valve integrale on an Autosolo at Finmere Airfield.

Then on Sunday, the 20th I was parked at the Kingston Bagpuize roundabout on the A420 as I marshalled on a cycling time trial.

On Monday I was followed along the A34 by a "bronzy" Evo.

Tomorrow I'm out looking at potential new venues for Oxford Motor Club's Bullnose Rally (held in August).

But then I drive my classic nearly everyday; why don't you?
