Hi there,

I have a question on my s2 Fulvia.

Sometimes, I try to start her but get no spark.
Then I notice I also have no fuel reading, no parking brake light. However when I turn the key, the starter motor does kick in (fruitlessly)

I take the key out ... put the ignition on again... everything work fine.

Any thoughts/advice?

many thanks, Mihran'.

Its likely your contacts at the back of the ignition switch are playing up.

Only accessible by removing the switch. It is tricky but the ignition switch can be removed without taking the whole lock off. It is a question of feeding the wires through. Put the key in and turn to GAR - there is a tiny button on the side of the barrel and 1 or 2 tiny screws which need to be removed. push the little button in and pull out the switch. Easier to do on the bench but you will need to deal with the anti theft bolts (no head) holding the lock housing onto the steering column. I cut a slot with a thin angle grinder and loosen them with a flat blade impact driver.

Or check your fuse #8 (the one with lots of red wires). It might be corroded... A lot easier fix!

Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?
