been offered a flavia 2000 gearbox for my 1.6 hf only have a 1.3 box in car at present and been told the flavia ratios will work well in my hf can anyone confirm this or throw any light one it please thanks Bod

My Fulvia had a 1600HF engine and was fitted with a 2000HF gearbox, and it was a great combination. It gave noticeably longer legs in 5th gear, with more than 20mph per thousand revs and I think a higher 1st gear. I didn’t fit it, but I think that all it requires was changing the bell-housing, the output flanges and the remote shift.
