I gather success in the "Pom" depends on taking best advantage of the handicapping rules and some quite unlikely cars can do very well.

Simon, not my vines !

Many opportunities for taking the car out, and for quick stops to enjoy the scenery, in this lovely weather.

A couple of photos taken in Padua while I was there for a day away from Venice......a few years ago.
We stumbled upon this Classic car show , small yes....but had some nice cars.
This Appia  is a Vignale Berlina I believe.

Indeed, who would have thought this Chevron B8 would win a competition to find the most appropriate 'touring' car? Image Peter Baker

The Vignale Appia makes me realise how good Lancia were with their styling. Very few bespoke coachbuilder versions look anything like as nice as the factory cars. I had to look twice to convince myself that the rear view of this car was anything other than a Trabant. Sad

The body of this car was made by Motto I have seen it a few times in Italy
It's illustrated in the new Appia book

Yet more vines

Taken in front of our new Carignan vineyard at lunchtime. In the background are the remains of the 8th century chapel of "St Jean de Caps"

First run out after getting the UK registration for my Augusta.

Up to the top of Nidderdale and over into Wensleydale to call at Kilgram Bridge, a favorite spot of mine.
The bridge was built in about 1145AD by the Cistercian monks of Jervaulx Abbey and survives in remarkable condition. It was built using a stone flagged Roman causeway crossing the river Ure as foundations for the bridge, the structure of which can still be seen below the bridge.

Oh and by the way the car runs very nicely (a relief as it was bought in Italy with little opportunity to test it). I am jolly pleased, and somewhat surprised by how well it motors - the engine is torquey, the crash gearbox very easy and the steering superb. The brakes are quite amazing for a car of that period.

Having recently sold a 20hp Rolls Royce I just need a flying lady to compete the view!

Nice car, and nice pictures!
Complimenti!

Nothing like small country roads to enjoy a well running prewar Lancia.

Appia in the winter a few years ago. It was a dry day, except for a bit of ice here and there... having looked underneath since, not doing this anymore....
