Regarding the Nardi Air Cleaner topic, I wonder whether anyone can explain the sequence of manufacture?

I currently have 3 original Nardi air boxes, all for Aurelia and 2 x Weber 40DC type carbs.
Two of them are the lower flatter type ( for B24 Spider and Convertible anecdotally?) and one taller narrower one ( for B20 anecdotally?).
The reason for writing is that one of the lower, wider air boxes ( the centre one in the photos)  has the writing set into the casting ( as every one whether old or new repro I have ever seen is ) whereas the other recently acquired lower, wider one has the writing standing proud which I have never seen before.

All the original period Nardi literature I have seems to show the writing set into the air box castings whatever the design.

I will take my anorak off now.

Mention of Mercedes F1 near Oxford puts me in mind of the motorsport "golden triangle" or "motorsport valley". The area between Oxford, Banbury and Milton Keynes contains Mercedes, Lotus, Caterham, Williams, Red Bull and Force India F1 teams. March Engineering were also up near Banbury as well as Prodrive rally team in Milton Keynes. Oh, and not to forget Aston Martin are based in Milton Keynes too.

I think the popular description of the "Triangle is a bit loose. Wantage would be a more accurate definition of the southern point. However, it still makes the point that a great deal of top level motorsport is based in England rather than just one isolated manufacturer.
