Thanks to Frank and Brian I am now the proud owner of a potentially cracking Y10 GTie.
I'm sure some club members will know the car, it belonged to a long time club members couple.

Really doesn't look that bad, not long since it was on the road so shouldn't take too much sorting.
Failed the test on welding to the inner cill/seat belt mount area last June. Sure there'll be other little bits to tidy up but it's in pretty decent shape.
Has what looks like a factory fitted tilt/slide sunroof.

Lovely alcantara interior as usual, well specced these little cars.

Looking forward to getting behind the wheel, when I can find some spare time to attend to it that is!

Loads of history, all MoT's etc to back up the very low 47k miles!

Yes, got the potential to be a little belter David.

Wet look suits it better at the moment though  Grin

You are very welcome. It is indeed a potentially beautiful car and you are the man to realise that potential. I think the carpet lets it down and interestingly the lesser models have a felted carpet with no pile which seems to wear better. As to the sunroof I believe the sliding sunshade inside the headlining marks it as a factory sunroof.

I found myself doing the usual last night, trawling ebay for Y10 parts  Grin

Couple of brochures ordered already, looking forward to getting the car back home, or up to the unit to be accurate, so I can have a proper look at things.
Plan at the moment is to give it a checkover once home to see what parts etc I need to get hold of then find time over the winter to attend to the mot specific jobs, sort out the welding to the inner sills and a few bits I spotted at the cill ends etc so I can get a test on it in the spring.
I'll use it for a summer or two then once I've caught up a bit I will probably pull it apart to do a full resto.
It was painted in 2012 according to the info with the car but a couple of areas have come back through, n/s/r outer arch for one plus a couple of patches around the sunroof opening. Really needs to be cut up and welded to make a longer lasting job of it.
With the miles and condition of the rest of the car it's well worth the effort.
Not that it'll be for profit, this one (like my integrale) will be a keeper for my private collection and not for sale  Wink

Brilliant little cars. I bought a Fila model for the kids in the late 90s. All I got was groans until they saw the Fila interior, then I was a hero! My son drove it into an early grave, but he and his mates said how much they enjoyed it. Then I found a white GTie, fabulous car. Used it for my daily drive for a couple of years and then gave it to my daughter at Uni at the time, around the year 2000. Also driven into an early grave, but what a great little car. Have fun!!

Looks nice. Had a black Y10 with red Fila interior. Quite a while ago, as the late Princess Diana was alongside us at Kensington traffic lights on the test drive.

Had this picture around dinnertime from Brian, little Y10 trying valiantly to fill my mates trailer!

Thanks again to Brian for assisting in the purchase and for the nice surprise of a folder full of the workshop data plus a cd all about the Y10, hopefully I won't need to study the data for a while though!

Thanks too to my mate for collecting it, he's a great guy who is willing to safely and easily collect anything from anywhere. His work includes stuff like the BLS Alfa 33 race car on race weekends so he's used to even low slung race cars, feel free to ask me for his number should you want a reliable and safe collection.

This afternoon the car arrived safe and well.

All tucked away safely now for a few weeks until I get a chance to have a look over it properly.

Did have a sneaky blast up the back lane, just to say I'd actually driven it of course!

Couldn't resist popping up to the unit this morning to have a look over the car, glad it's inside and it got moved yesterday not today, the rain is making up for the dry weather now!

It is in remarkably good condition underneath I'm happy to report, better than I'd dared hope for.

The bit of welding that the MoT man had pointed out a year or so ago won't take much sorting. Looks like it has very recently had new brakes all round as found no issues anywhere, steering/ball joints etc look good. One small split in a bottom ball joint boot but that may be OK, or I'll fit a new boot or joint.

Rear end behind the bumper looks good, these areas can hide rot but looks in decent shape..

Inner rear wheel arches which I thought looked like needed work aren't that bad, a clean up and some treatment and they should last a few more years.
