Shortly I will hopefully be removing the rolling subframe from my S2 Coupe. I've disconnected everything except the steering linkage and gear lever and I have a couple of questions before I go any further.  Firstly, access seems very tight to the steering linkage.  Do I have to remove the brake servo to get at it from above, or should it be accessible through the wheel arch or from under the car?  Secondly, I have removed the boot to expose the gear linkage.  Which bolt has to be removed to uncouple the gear lever from the linkage - see picture below?

Not 100% but just looked at mine and I will try and go via the wheelarch , but if you are redoing the brakes anyway then may be easier without the servo in the way ....

Re gearlever, it splits leaving the stub on the box. The chrome part is pushed (firmly) onto the stub , however the clip may be brittle and break. New clips/bushes are available for about 25 euros for the complete set

Actually you are advised not to split the chrome (kits are available from Spitline I think among others). I always undo the locking not and bolt at the bottom an that the lever assembly out whole.

Agree, remove the servo, it makes access easier.   I made a crossbar with pads on the end which fits under the wings, from a stout piece of 4x2 to lift the car off the subframe.   I do this with a block and tackle - the car sans subframe is not that heavy.
