Hi,
We are currently having my late fathers 1969 RHD Series 1 Fulvia Coupe Rallye S restored and need some help regarding the wiring.
The company restoring it for us advised that as it's a "bare metal" restoration it would be advisable to replace the loom. As we want the car to be as reliable as possible once it's finished we agreed to go ahead with this. The restoration company found that replacement looms were available from Autosparks and so went ahead and ordered one at a cost of around £380 + VAT
Once it arrived they then advised that it was not correct for our car as it was a late S1 and so it would require modification to make it usable. The loom was then sent to another company which was meant to have made the modifications but this seems to have stalled and there has not been any progress for some months.
To try and to break the deadlock we find ourselves in we have been looking into this and have found that Autosparks offer 2 looms for RHD Fulvias:
1). Autosparks Part No LC15c
Fulvia 1.2l Coupe
1965 onward
Suitable for Chassis Numbers in the series 818.130/131
(see :
https://www.autosparks.co.uk/finder/car/lancia/fulvia+coupe)
This is listed at £510.22 + VAT on their website
2). Autosparks Part No LC20c
2nd Series Fulvia Coupe Rallye
1970-1972
Suitable for Chassis Numbers in the series 818.630/631
(see :
https://www.autosparks.co.uk/finder/car/lancia/fulvia+coupe+rallye)
This is listed at £384.63 + VAT on their website
Our car is a 1969 Series 1 Rallye S Couple, with a chassis number in the series 818.361
Given we were invoiced for the £384 loom (less a discount) from the restoration company we are now wondering if they have ordered the LC20c part which appears to be for a S2 and if it is this that is actually the issue.
If this is the case then our main question is would the LC15c loom, which is listed as being suitable for chassis numbers 818.130/131 (i.e. Normal S1 Coupe) also be correct for the Rallye (818.330/331 chassis numbers?) and Rallye S (818.360/361 chassis numbers) ?
Looking at the helpful colour diagram of a S1 loom that can be found on this old topic on this forum:
http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11747.0It would seem that the wiring for the 818.130 and 818.330 chassis numbers is the same?
If this is the case is the wiring also the same for 818.360/361 chassis cars like ours and to resolve all of this all the restoration company needs to do it actually order the LC15c loom?
Any help anyone can provide would be very much appreciated as this has held up our restoration for some months now (which was already running over a year behind schedule!) so it would be great if we could get this sorted.
Many thanks in advance,
Shelley
