Title: Informal Classic Car Meet, The Crown, Shillington Beds
Post by: fay66 on 21 June, 2017, 12:28:41 AM
Throughout the Summer there is an informal Classic Car meet at The Crown in Shillington Bedfordshire, about 6 miles north east'ish of Luton, about a couple of miles off the A6.
I usually attend as I only live 3-4 miles away, and to date 'Fay' is the only Lancia.
So it came a bit of a surprise when an Aurelia B20GT appeared, particularly as it was 5 COJ that once belonged to Mike Jennings. It's current owner is Patrick Heaton visiting friends in Shillington.
I have very fond memories of chasing Mike in it up the Simplon Pass, in the first of my Themas, on the way to Lake Orta, and then Fobello, back in 1997 ( was it really 20 years ago :o) on one of Frank Dehler of German Club Vincenzo Lancia, trips. a great time was has by all, there were two B20 GT's on the trip, the other belonging to mike Guest who had just finished reassembling it from a lot of bits.

I've now reduced the size of the photos I meant to post yesterday!
The old photos are quick snapshots from my photo album of the 1997 trip to Fobello, so the quality is not the best ::)
