Post by: Jim on 20 March, 2017, 04:32:52 PM
There is a a medium/large illuminated Lancia garage sign for auction at Tennants, Leyburn, North Yorks on March 25th. It is lot 2069, estimated price range £100 - 150 including a pair of Cibie Lode headlamps and protectors. www. tennants.co.uk.

I have no connection other than being the occasional customer.

Oh bother.... out of the country! Been looking one for a while now.

Suspect the estimate will be on the low side....

Soon to be hanging in the garage! Unwanted Cibie Super Oscar spotlights that came with the sign will be on eBay soon! Just need to sort out some electrics now.  ;D

The Lancia sign is now firmly fixed to the ceiling of the garage awaiting me finding enough time to investigate the failed illumination - the lamp or the starter need checking first before I swap it all out.

The Cibie Super Oscars that came in the same lot are on eBay at the moment and doing nicely! So far the bids have covered the auctioneers commission, VAT and the fuel costs for collecting the sign. Net cost coming down nicely!

Thanks for the lead once again Jim!

??

The Stratos Replica has had the Group4 square arches since 1996.. Last year I converted it to left hand drive!

Umm....how do you actually get out? I thought you might line it up with the door on the right until I read it's LHD.

I'd like to I can get out of the car because of my svelte form.... ::) ::) ::)

But in actuality the photo is deceptive as the angle is a wide one. There is a 6 inch gap either side of the 4 post ramp at the narrowest points by the two brick piers. That plus the extra bricks width either side makes it relatively easy to get out of the car once it's driven into the garage. I'd prefer to reverse it in but that's fraught with danger because of the (slight) lack of rearward visibility!

My grandapa used to have carpet on the walls and a tennis ball hanging down in the right position to touch the back window when "home".  A wood chock bolted to the floor?

Very nice sign!

I use foam pipe lagging screwed to the wall to protect the opened door edge, works brilliantly! I really don't want to screw any chocks to the ramp bed especially as I rarely reverse the car into the garage these days.

I once used a Maserati as a "chock" in an underground garage in Limone on Lake Garda! The rear spoiler still has the scar.....

That one has been listed before but either with a very high price or a big reserve. I suspect it's too big for a garage wall hanger but would be ideal for the club stand at the NEC.... Except that it's something heavy to transport...

I don't think I'll be bidding on this one!

No surprise this auction got pulled at £5.20 with a day to go....

I wonder what it would have reached, if they hadn't pulled it. Probably a reasonable sum. All the serious bids go in at the last few moments on eBay.

Suspect it will be re-listed in the coming months and it might be worth any interested party bidding it to a more reasonable sum earlier? But who knows what the seller really wanted for it!

Guy,
I never bid openly as it generally only pushes up the price.

This one's a toughie! Not enough bids and he pulls the auction.... Multiple times now! Suspect anyone who really really wants it needs to send him a message!
