Title: Dedra 2000 Turbo - restoration project
Post by: John Hart on 19 February, 2017, 05:50:51 PM
Hi All,

Ive been off line for a while busy sourcing parts for the Y10 Turbo.  After spending an arm and a leg it's very much on the road to being as good as new. However it's not the Y10 that brings me back.  My news it i purchased the Dedra 2000 Turbo that was advertised on eBay this month.  It's going to need a lot of welding and TLC to the engine that hasn't been started since 2008.

My main concern at the moment is trying to find inner and outer sills and a floor pan if possible.  If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful for any advice.  I understand that the floor pan is the same as a Fiat Tipo?  I've had a search around but haven't found much yet.

Are the sills the same as a Delta, as i can see that you can still get Delta sills?

PS  It was owned by a previous LMC owner as there's stickers all over it!

Cheers

John

John,
If you have not already done so, it may be worth your while joining the Thema and Dedra Consortium (TDC) as that is probably your best chance of sourcing spare parts.  Dave Abbett on 01527 450187 or tdc.dave.abbett@blueyonder.co.uk is the man in charge of spares.

A Y10 and a Dedra, a man after my own heart. I definitely second the advice to join TDC. I must get round to doing it myself. Also you can get advice from Brian Hilton, the LMC advisor for Dedras.

Hi John,
It used to belong to Stuart Harvey in Norwich, a long time club member and Dedra owner, he sold it and bought Alan Cooper's 2nd series Delta LHD HPE Turbo, although I lost track after he sold that, and I'm not sure if he's still a LMC Member.
I agree with Frank that it would be worth your while to join TDC, I'm also still the Dedra Technical Adviser, although not much call for my help these days! but I still have all my manuals, including most of the common to all models stuff on CD, and I'd be happy to burn you a copy.
Although I never managed to get hold of a Dedra Turbo Manual a lot of it was common with the Dedra integrale 4x4 LHD which never was officially imported here, although Chris Hopkins has a very nice example, so a good source of advice, but I do have a copy of the Dedra integrale 4x4 manual in Italian!

Good luck.

Thanks a lot Brian, Tim the guy who sold the car to me gave me Stuart's e-mail address so i contacted him and will be speaking to him tonight.
Yes please to the CD of info, i'd be so grateful.

I went and tinkered with the windscreen surround this evening, a filthy silted up mess, the kind of jobs i love.

Just joined the Thema and Dedra Consortium too!  All moves to getting him back on the road sooner rather than later.

Cheers

John
