What's this, Tim? Ordered too many? Perhaps we could all help you out by taking some off your hands at cost...  ;D

the minimum printing run was 10 so you can see why the problem would arise..... ;)

You can have them at cost...£15.

No Gamma page though,   and it would have been an easy one to photograph
as they don't move much... :-)

Rodders here with his 'moderator' hat on.....

I've been asked whether we should be allowing a director of cls to advertise their calendars on the LMC's forum.  Feedback would be appreciated before I decide what to do (in consultation with Harvey of course!).

Over to youse folks out there for reactions, please

Rodders

Rodders at the end of the day I'm also apart of this club.... and was before CLS.

You don't get many calendars of Lancia's in the UK, and what is wrong with sharing the love of this marque with everyone?

You advertise LMC events and non LMC events, the LMC see CLS as competition. I can asure you CLS don't see the LMC as competition. (it's for the love of the marque)

Makes no odds to me.

Admin, understand the concern but I couldn't give a monkeys t....s either.there are too few lancia fans to want to split the difference.(but i'm too tight to lash out 15 quid on a calender anyway).

Incidentally Colonel, its a good cost saving idea to feature the Gamma next time. This one car could feature on every month. In the spring with a light dusting of snow, turning green during the summer and covered in leaves in the autumn. The tow truck appears in the distance on the december scene...

Hmm.  CLS was set up as a rival club by people who left the LMC in high dudgeon.  Some of their reasons for being annoyed were valid, but in my view the actions they took were the wrong ones.  I'll say no more than that for fear of widening the gap still further.

On the other hand the issue is now how do we go forward.  The ructions of last winter actually caused a revival in the LMC, a renewed sense of energy and a desire to sort out our structures and vision of what we are - so if CLS has achieved anything, it has been to make the LMC better and stronger.  Stopping them selling their calendars on here would just tend to reinforce the sense of isolation felt by some in CLS, rather than building bridges back.  I won't be buying one, but I'd rather work towards the day when CLS come to the conclusion that they are better within the LMC fold than without it - after all what LMC needs is an active Delta Consortium, and what CLS has is a small but very active and capable concentration of largely Delta Integrale enthusiasts who could deliver just that, as well as using that consortium as a vehicle for running some of the events that currently run under the CLS banner, such as the London-Brighton Run.  More's the pity that before last winter, such a consortium had already been mooted, had a website, and could have taken off - before some of the main movers and shakers decided to take their talents off to form CLS.  Dons tin hat and awaits the flurry of e-mails and PMs...

Tim

Please don't confuse what I may or may not think with an action I took as a moderator.  I thought the fairest way to deal with the comment I received was to give you guys the chance to tell us what you think.  If anyone wants to know my own opinion, drop me a PM please because I don't want to muddy the waters between my personal views and my responsibilities as a mod.

From the replies I've seen here I can't see any reason to meddle, though perhaps you should have posted in the 'For Sale' section!

Some of the comments made by fensaddler I don't agree with but thats for another day.. ;)

Tim, so in other words you're using the healthy visitor traffic on the LMC site to redirect them to CLS?

I think you have read to much into that...

Basically guests are people that cannot post as they are not members, so would have been pointless leaving this thread under the  members only side of this forum...

I think it "whould have been pointless leaving this thread under the  members only side of this forum..." as most members of the LMC who were likely to leave for CLS have already done so.

Sounds a bit like EU 'Fair Trade Practice': Subsidizing French farmers, who, at the same time are ploughing surplus butter into their fields...

Your problem is what?

As for the EU.. worst thing the UK has ever done.. my opinion of course.

I had hoped we had finished with the snipping, things seem to have calmed down and proper debate returned for the better of all. I don't think we need another 3rd party picking up the stick, stiring the bucket and fishing for some kick-back again - give it (and us) a rest, it's nearly Christmas (good will etc........).

Tim,
Looks a good set of photos - I might go for one. Is there an LMC calander, not seen any sign of one ?

Sorry I don't think the LMC has had one produced hence my original post.  I’m sure it’s about time there was a calendar out there for Lancia fans regardless which club had it produced.

I can’t answer for anyone on here apart from myself but I don’t want a calendar with another marque or the dross you get in card shops.

Drat. I'll have to return the Girls Aloud calendar I'd bought you for Christmas, Tim!

I've never been one for calendars as I tend to manage my time in Outlook (though I use Thunderbird for e-mails) so they tend to be a bit of a blind spot for me.

What happened to the free official Lancia calendars the club used to obtain, may be 2008 we will be able to request them again?

Well I don't have a problem with the calender, (as I'm a member of both anyway)
not that I would buy one of course as I still have a free one I got in 1974 and it
works fine for me, after all as far as I was concerned I only needed to know which
nights the pub shut early but with 24 hour drinking it doesn't matter anymore.

'the colonel' , Hooligan, Rebel, Renegade, Gamma driver, etc etc etc

of course I was very very drunk
