So did the seller who presumably bought that car in 2014 make a good investment? Hammer price was 1.825.000, of which one must substract seller commission to Gooding of 10%, so seller will receive 1.642.500 USD. This makes a net loss in 2 1/2 years of 172.500 USD, or the price of a very nice B20! And who knows what else he had to pay over the period for maintenance, restoration, insurance, and so on... (And if you compute what Gooding earned on both deals for that same car, 10% seller commission + 10% buyer commission on hammer price, it was 330.000 USD in 2014, and 365.000 USD last week ) The other B24 spider (B24S-1094) at Bonhams sold for "only" 1.402.500 USD The early Flaminia Sport estimated at a very high 750-1.000.000 USD did not sell! |
