It looks from the pictures that it has been re trimmed in modern leather which has a quite different finish to original leather of the right period. I am noticing this more and more on restored classics and I think it rather spoils them.

I like the back seat base, I have seen a few continental cars with this and always thought of making one myself so I can take the family out. But they never seem interested in riding in the car, wife doesn’t like the smell (very slight hot engine smell in traffic) and my daughter doesn’t like people staring.

It’s generous regarding the price, but it seems a very tidy 2.8 and if a convertible can go for +£150k, then this doesn’t seem that expensive.

In light of the first post, is this mistakenly priced, or can someone explain to me whats going on!?

I am not justifying the price, this car is so called ‘concours’, plus the advert is 2 years old.

With all classic ads you have to be careful, there are a lot of olds ads kicking about plus a lot of them aren’t strictly 100%. For example the car in the ad is sold as 2.8, but doesn’t have the correct 3c carbs.

When looking at buying a GT, 5 years ago, I phoned a few private European ads and either car was sold ages ago or the picture was not the car being sold, and some were just plain scams, who wanted deposits there and then. Even in 2014 €7,000 is ridiculous cheap.

I see the Spanish car has the high seats mentioned recently.
