Title: exhausts
Post by: chugga boom on 14 January, 2015, 09:21:39 PM
at the moment I have 3x 1st series aprilia's in for work, all of them need exhausts , I am in the process of possibly getting a batch of stainless steel exhausts made to original pattern , the more I buy the cheaper they will be to manufacture , anyone interested initially please let me know so I can discuss potential numbers with the company I intend to use , I will have no idea of prices etc until Monday at the earliest (when I drop a fulvia exhaust off to them) but numbers of interest would still be good . the front pipe will only fit 1st series cars with 4 engine mountings however if anyone wanted an S2 frontpipe if they have a pattern I'm sure it could be done , j

Any mileage in asking if other European countries club members might be interested too?

I'd be interested in one of these (S1 1937) if the price is sensible. Gauge of SS used needs to be thick enough to avoid the 'tinniness' of note that SS exhausts sometimes suffer from (IMO). This can be wearing on the ear as well as inappropriate in a historical sense!

Cheers,
William

My exhaust is not brilliant and will need replacing in  12 months and I am a great fan of S/S having them on the other cars. The B10 one was put on in 1986 and I have not looked at it since. Put me down for one please.

Gentlemen , I have a price , this will be £209 inc vat for a full system . only additional costs would be postage , my intension would be to split the initial postage costs of the consignment to me between everyone buying an exhaust , I would hope that with iro 10 exhausts ordered postage would be less than £5 each , on top of that I can get the system sent anywhere in the uk for around £15 so would imagine total cost would be less than £230 delivered , I have used the company for many years with great results and good quality , I have only known of 1 faulty exhaust which was exchanged no quibble for a new one.
Anyone who 100% wants one please message me or email me on info@mineratyres.com and I will get the ball rolling , manufacturing takes around 4 weeks from date of order however they must be paid for up front by all of us before they will start production

Lovely stuff - and an impressive turn round from "order fixed" to "here they are".

Seeing the car on its side made me chuckle to think the one thing you're not short of are old tyres.  Do you get particular about sizes and types for putting cars on their sides?

David

wider the better , joking aside 205-55-16 or bigger normally works well supple enough to work as a cushion

Excellent news, well done J. Hopefully the same success with brake parts

I'm part way through sourcing silent blocks , sourced brake parts just need to get a minute to call back to get some firm prices , seem pretty reasonable so far , I also need to get into the parts dept and find augusta and aprilia brake hoses to order/ price the correct length, its surprised me how much time has been taken up (I'm not complaining!) doing the exhaust deal, parcelling up, sourcing gaskets (the ones you sent me were sent off as patterns thankyou) and organising delivery etc , I really need 48hr days or a clone to speed things up  :D
