Title: Dante Giacosa - 40 years at Fiat - new online edition Post by: Sebastien on 11 December, 2014, 10:19:21 AM I have frequently refered to the memoirs of Dante Giacosa, chief engineer at Fiat, and the designer amongst others, of such cars as the initial Fiat 500, the Cisitalia D46, the Fiat 600 and the first front wheel drive Fiat, the 128.
That book was published 1979 by Automobilia, and is I think a required read for those interested in italian automobile industry. It allows to understand the challenges Lancia was confronted to after the war, by its competitor. Good news is that the book can be now downloaded for free on a FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) website: http://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/group/history/Pages/dante_giacosa.aspx This new version, only available as a pdf, has a more modern layout, 363 pages, and is also fully searchable. Great to see that the FCA Group is taking care of its history! You can get more sophisticated prints, but obviously the cost goes up. Peter |
