Title: EBAY - non-paying winning bidder
Post by: Dilambdaman on 23 July, 2014, 03:49:53 PM
I've been Ebaying for many years and had relatively few problems but recently I've had two winning bidders who have not paid and more annoyingly, refuse to communicate. Both were for reasonably large amounts.

Searching the internet I came across an item which pointed me in the direction of a government website which makes it easy to recover money owed at a cost of just £35. And it works! On both occasions I downloaded the claim form, filled it out and sent a copy to he who owed the money, giving them a deadline at which I would activate the claim. Hey presto! they paid immediately, presumably not wishing to run the risk of getting a CCJ recorded against them.

Thank you Robin,
I've had a couple myself but fortunately not for any great amount, these people are a real pest.

I assume these messers didn't have goods dispatched to them?

Absolutely not. Nothing gets dispatched until paid for in full.

Ditto,
It's just the inconvenience they cause by having to relist and starting all over again when you thought you had sold the iterm.
