Title: Rally Day - Castle Combe - 20th September 2014
Post by: sparehead3 on 02 July, 2014, 11:21:02 AM
Hi All,

www.rallyday.com

I've spoken with the organisers of the event confirming that the club would like to attend with a stand and would also like a track session. This will be (as last year) a joint stand /track session with Club LanciaSport and also sited near to the Stratos owners (celebrating 40 years). The track session is limited to 20 places and and the clubs will split this on a first come first served basis.

I'll confirm the costs this weekend but should be approx £18 entry and paddock parking and £25 for the session.

For those not having been before, this is a rally themed event (so most Lancias particularly integrale, fulvia, montecarlo etc). It's a great spectator event with plenty of rally based action on the circuit during the day.

If you're interested please drop me a line or reply to the thread and then I'll send out details of how to pay (when confirmed). Any questions , please ask and I'll update the topic with answers.

regards,
Steve

I thought the Lancia turnout at RallyDay was fantastic, especially the display put on by the Stratos Enthusiasts Club. Has anyone got more pictures?

It was indeed a great day and thanks to Steve Pilgrim for organising the LMC display.

The Stratos presence was superb and I could easily have been tempted to swap the Fanalone for the dark red one in Peter's picture. It was for sale probably at a comparable figure but I believe that the owner wasn't up for a deal in any case.

Had a most enjoyable track session with CUC - she really is performing rather well now although I feel that 45 carbs would be better than the 48s Barry used. She had company in the form of a rally prepared Fanalone which had arrived in the country from Spain the day before! Painted in Dutch national orange it was almost a twin to CUCs Rosso san Siro. Sounded lovely too.

Sorry, no pictures although my passenger took some so maybe post some later.

Robin.

Glad you enjoyed it ! Nice day out for all concerned I think , plenty to see and do (and the breakfast is pretty good!)

Here's a clip from me of the Stratos Parade Lap - possible the biggest drive past for a long time (?):

.. and here's an in car camera of our first session from one of the yellow integrales:
