I know this is the LMC but their trip reminds me that I got all the way to Rome in an Alfasud and wrote it off a few miles north on the way home.  Got it sidewise round a deceptively long and tightening sweeper (it deceived me anyhooo) and while I kept it on the road the suspension ripped out, front and rear.  Three thicknesses of tape over the oil light but still a starvation clatter with any G-load.  The disks were warped which superheated the fluid through the transfer pipes so brakes were on a ration.

Someone suggested a Flavia Sport is an Alfasud Sprint's ugly sister.
