Title: Help needed for storage
Post by: Harvey on 03 May, 2007, 12:51:51 PM
Alas, now that summer is upon us, my friend has reclaimed her garage in order to put outdoorsy things in it. My Dedra is now homeless.  :(
I'm wavering on selling her (the car, not the friend), but I can't quite bring myself to part with her. So I need to find a decent medium-term storage solution.
Does anyone in the Bath area know of spare garage capacity I could rent at a low rate? Alternatively, what's the going rate on proper commercial storage? (Renting a lock-up garage in Bath will require a second mortgage, so I'm thinking perhaps there are people who don't use theirs...)
All help appreciated, otherwise keep your eyes on the For Sale section. :'(

Harvey,

Had the problem at the begining of this year with my Delta. Until my next door neighbour offered me the use of their double garage.

However, I did make contact with a company in Clevedon which does storage. The cors varied from £15-£25 depending on the level of storage. The sting in the tail was 10 weeks unfront and then monthly afterwards, although no VAT

I have the number if you wish to follow this up.

Regards

Simon

Hi Harvey,
Depends what you want & how much you want to pay/can afford, ::) but have you tried Ade & Ed Rudler as they have a storage facility not far from Swindon.

I must confess I hadn't as their facilities look very professional and I suspect my budget won't extend that far! I've found gated off-road parking at the back of an office in a sleepy village nearby for £32 per month - which is about the same cost as insuring the car for the road, so I get to save the road tax and the risk of some passing yob vandalising it. (£163 to repair the Ypsilon's wing mirror after such an event....)

Hi Harvey,
Very short term you could put it in my garage if it's going to be on the street. If not in the garage (which at the moment is ok) then it can always go on my drive which is gated and out of the way.
