Title: Lancia Love Affair !
Post by: simonandjuliet on 23 May, 2013, 02:55:04 PM
I was going through some papers and came across this article written for Pulse Magazine (GP newspaper) in 1986. Apart from a few other Lancia owning GPs, I am not sure many other owners will have seen this before !

I remember Paul being quite excited about being interviewed for it and we spent a while compiling a list of the Lancias he had owned. I dread to think what the number is now if it was 57 in 1986 .....

The reg is KLF 9D - a 1216 cc car if I recall

Hope you can read it, the page was too big for my scanner

Have a Happy Fulvia 50th !

" if it was 57 in 1986 ..... " far too many to be recorded on the database (I have a few of them!) - I think it's well over 100 ...

Can we be sure that the "57" doesn't have the same significance as it did when used by Laurence Harvey in "The Manchurian Candidate"?

I wonder if anybody out there knows what I am talking about!

Is this the reference ?

"Mrs. Iselin: [at meal time] I'm sorry, hon'. Would it really make it easier for you if we settled on just one number?

Sen. John Yerkes Iselin: Yeah. Just one, real, simple number that'd be easy for me to remember.

[Mrs. Iselin watches her husband thump a bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup onto his plate]

Sen. John Yerkes Iselin: [addressing the Senate] There are exactly 57 card-carrying members of the Communist Party in the Department of Defense at this time! "

You could be right, and the 57 could very well have been an under estimate ! I have been asking him for years to write them all down .....
