Do you want an LMC stand this year?
We have had reasonable attendance over the last 3 or 4 years but it would be good to see this event really take off this year. (20 to 22 July).

I've always imagined it could be the summer version of the NEC in terms of members attending/meeting/socialising. There is much more than at the NEC; more car clubs with much bigger displays, plus racing on the circuit, plus direct access to all the pit garages, plus YOU can have YOUR car on the display.

Unlike previous years it will probably be a few weeks apart from the LMC National Rally weekend.
Don't buy your tickets yet, buy them via the official club code (details to follow) to get half price !

I agree it is a great event and I will probably be going again but the "half price" offer needs to be explained so members are not missled.  As I understand it, even if you are coming on your own and do not want 2 tickets you do not have a choice, that is what is supplied which gets round their "half price" claim or is it just me being thick - as usual!!

I went last year, brilliant and far better than the NEC, the only thing was I couldn't find our club?, if we do it this year lets make it big, maybe a joint stand with Sporting Lancia club and the Stratos enthusiasts club, all a great bunch with one common love of Lancia! We have the best cars on the planet so lets show them off! We have Julia now to promote so come on lets make it happen, no excuses get our Lancia's out there!! :)

I shall look to go there again for the weekend (@Tony : we just walked over the road to the campsite and left the car overnight = able to drink a couple of ciders the whole day / evening :) )
It's a great event and cheap too and you just need to find a buddy to go with (they don't need to be LMC members).
IMHO I'd be great to have a combined stand (if only because it means people will always be around) and in the past two years I've driven the curcuit on parade laps. Given it's Beta 40th and integrale 25th this would be on the cards again.
Martin is also a great host and will give the best tips on how to see the show and where to eat.
The Group C night race was a highlight and being able to wind down listening to the music was also great.
There's still things that I haven't done (like watching the rally cars). I may also bring my Brompton as it's the easy way of getting about (a lot of people do this).
This isn't forgetting that you can walk into all the garages and watch everything being made ready.

Will try and make it too Martin. Normally too many events happening in July ( GFOS, LMC rally/AGM etc), but we are giving Goodwood a
miss this year.

Would be great to see how many Monza red ( the only colour for an Evo ;) ) Deltas we can get in a line!. Sorry Nick if yours isn't red !

Where were the rally cars running Steve? There used to be a dedicated Rallysprint circuit on the outside of the Hanger straight many years ago
but I think this has long gone. I used to go and watch the Rallysprint series, late 90's I think, Steve Smith ( of Walkers fame) competed
in the ex-Carlos Sainz Delta he used to have. The drivers were all given nicknames, Steve's was 'Hannibal' for obvious reasons and I still have
the large blue elephants ( on the garage wall) he used to give out.

I also was very fortunate to get a passenger ride in the car around the circuit in one of the practice sessions. My overiding memory of the car
apart from the noise,( especially of the stones hitting the underside of the car ) was of the incredible acceleration. No doubt due to the very short
gear ratios in the 6 speed box, Steve was constantly changing gear! Seeing all the extra co-driver instruments, mostly labelled in Italian was also very evocative.

no need to apologise, i'm blessed with monza red paint work as well ..so thats four of us so far.

Monza Reds ... now there's a challenge ....  have to see who's around at the track day , see if they'll come.

Yes, I think the Rally stuff is outside of the Hanger Straight.

Sounds like a wonderful experience, I'd love to experience a works car ride ....

Had a positive response from J-P at CLS, he's going to discuss it with the Stratos club at Race Retro so hopefuly should have some good news after that, what a display!
If we do get a good size stand then lets all make the effort to fill it! please, nothing worse than people putting in lots of effort for a handful to turn up while the rest watch coronation street omnibus on Sunday afternoon lol 8) 

Firstly, thanks everybody for your quick responses and enthusiasm but .... HANG ON, the question at this stage is; how many members would attend this years event?

I hope there will be sufficient support to warrant going ahead but the first thing is to establish some idea of interest and numbers, then the other details will fall into place.

I have already had positive discussions with one or two of the Stratos guys about adjacent stands, similarly with the Montecarlo Consortium as we did last year and hopefully others too. That stuff is in hand and will follow on.

The Silverstone organisers make the rules and make it very clear that the club coordinator (me) must check that people buying discounted (2 for 1) tickets using the LMC booking code are LMC members, to do otherwise would be getting cheap tickets fraudulently. Booking via this route is also the only way of getting a car pass to park a Lancia on the stand.

Making a success of things this year is really simple; LMC members need to buy a ticket and bring their Lancia to the display and enjoy themselves, and if lots of members do that we will have a great display !

So back to the question; will YOU be there?
