Looks in good condition but the decals are a bit 'Loud' for my liking.

but maybe someone will advise if they were a standard fit or aftermarket items, either way very 70's.

Take a Beta Coupe (or a hundred) that have sat unsold in a damp field somewhere in the UK for over 3 years.

Send them to Aston Martin Tickford.

Add a Voxon stereo and graphic equaliser.

Paint the wheels black and gold (Because the original lacquer is flaking)

Replace the tyres (the original are perishing

Get the paintwork rectified by Tickford / the car resprayed.

Add a ghastly rear spoiler.

Add horrendous side stripes. (Yes, those are the standard Hi-Fi stripes, retro fitted in the UK)

Add a "unique build number" decal

And hey presto - You have a "brand new" Beta Hi-Fi Coupe Special edition.

Then sit back and wonder why your reputation is going to pot and people are moaning that their "new" cars are proving troublesome!

What a great find though - not many left at all!

Now where would a classic car magazine have to take it to get it to look good?

Whatever its other foibles, I don't think it violates any eBay policy, except perhaps the law of hearsay .... the owner's family history must be a bit sketchy as he makes the "elimentary" mistake of saying his grandfather purchased it new in Italy - though I suppose it is not impossible that he did

I did a double take at the "purchased in Italy" bit but it does seem to be right hand drive so if the family has connections in the UK it is plausible. However I thought the HiFi had the serial number at the back end of the stripe on the sill, which this seems to be missing. Is it therefore a restoration with the stripes made up out of after market decals? Also the absence of any reference to the stereo system makes me wonder it is the real thing or a recreatgion.

Well, there's definitely a Graphic Eq installed. It's the silver-looking rectangular box at the bottom of the centre console ahead of the gear-lever; clearly an add-on. As to whether that's a Voxson stereo, I couldn't say.
