Title: Looking for Dedra HF Turbo L683 ULO
Post by: fay66 on 18 September, 2011, 04:41:42 PM
Can anyone help in tracing Dedra HF Turbo L683 ULO, a previous owner would like to be reunited with it, last heard of about a year ago somewhere in Kent?

...and if anyone knows where J 182 GMM, a "regular" Dedra Turbo in dark blue ended up I'd love to know...

Dedra HF Turbo, now that was a rare beast when new never mind now!
Does anyone know how many official Dedra HF Turbos (with the Recaro's) were registered? A lot were SE's with HF badges. I bet there were less than fifty.

Good luck in finding this one, if you do please cherish it.

Paul,
I'll try and find the figures as I have them somewhere, 50 is way over the top, if I remember correctly they barely made it into double figures.

Paul my Good friend and fellow Lancisti Alan Cooper has just sent me Dedra HF Turbo figures since 1994 from the DVLA.

I take it that this means that over the models life '93-'94 in the UK only 14 were registered and a LHD example crept in 2 years later.
The other question is were all the HF Turbos registered as "HF" Turbos or just as Dedra Turbos or something else as they tend to be from time to time, I suppose we will never know for sure.

Still, good work Brian (& Alan)

As far as I'm aware it was only the 1993/94 Dedra Turbos that were officially known as HF Turbos, previous to that they wouldn't have been designated HF, and I can't really see that anyone would register a HF Turbo as an ordinary Turbo, being that they were very much a status symbol and top of the range, at least in the UK, so I don't really see that speculation is relevant in this case.

What I was trying to say Brian is that the V5's do not always accurately describe a vehicle e.g. my (Beta) HPE VX is described as a 2000 VX 4-dr saloon (as has the three previous V5,s of which I have copies) and my Dedra 2000 SE was described as a Lancia 2 axle rigid body saloon with no mention of Dedra at all. Mistakes are made so it could be possible that some "official" HF Turbos particularly '93 examples may not be described correctly on the V5.

Paul,
I know what you mean as my Y Elefantino Rosso was registered as a Lancia 2 axle as well,
You maybe correct, but I would of thought that going by how few seemed to have been imported, it wouldn't be very many even if that was the case.
