Title: Racing Zagato Wendover
Post by: fay66 on 12 December, 2010, 10:59:27 PM
I bought a set of 5 Fulvia 2 wheels and tyres off of ebay, which were amongst the items for sale that I drew attention to the other day.
I went to pick them up yesterday and while doing so was shown the owners (Bryan Dugdale) Fulvia Zagato LHD Series 2 1300, that has been prepared for racing.
Very interesting. but I haven't seen any previous photos of it racing, has anyone else?

Believe it was at Silverstone end of HSCC meet in October but was having a few problems with over heating.

All in all the Fulvia contingent of the meet failed to run properly for a variety of reasons...

Here is PCT 739M at HSCC Silverstone in October this year – getting lots of attention before it didn’t race!

Colin.

What are those two pipes sticking out from under the front of the car?

I did see those but didn't ask the question (Doh!) obviously air intakes of some sort, I suspect probably to the carbs which seem to have the nozzle part of the air cleaner missing, funnily enough going back to my many years at Vauxhall Motors the 1967 FC VX 4/90 had a similar arrangment, personally I thought they would be great for scooping water up into the engine, so on my VX 4/90 I raised them up higher.
Regarding the overheating, if you look to the left of the radiator in the engine compartment photo you will see an additional small radiator that Bryan has added, I thought at first it was the oil cooler, but he pointed out that's over by the air cleaner. perhaps this is in response to the overheating.
