Do you want just the heater motor/fan or the complete assembly ?

I've looked at the parts books.  Series 2 Coupes and Sports were fitted with a 2-speed motor part 2278949.  It was also used on the 2000 (820- flat-4) car.  A different heater motor was used on the S2 saloon.  Series 1 cars had different part numbers for their fan motors, 1.2 was 2229815, 1.3 2249270, 1.6 22676680.  All part numbers later preceded by an 8.  I don't  about physical compatibility.  I have a brand new 2278949 for the S2.

So I'd be careful about buying an S2 part for an S1 without checking with someone who knows.  Maybe Neale Shepherd?

Hope this is of help

Hi, thanks for the info. You are right, the motor bought was not the right one. My mistake for assuming it would be the same. The S1 is a simple barrel shaped item, 50mm in diameter and 65mm long. The fan on the front is a single bladed cylinder press fitted onto the motor spindle.

Any spares around?

Cheers

Michael

Had hoped I could help, but the Series 1 2c Berlina is a different part number again to any of those already listed. ::)

Michael,

I have the rest of the complete heater box, if it's of any help, or you can return the fan/motor

No problem Geoff, I have tried to fit into the S1 housing but its too big so don't worry. I will use it as a paper weight.
