Title: Museum HPE for sale
Post by: lee69 on 14 July, 2010, 08:21:56 PM
I'm not sure if this has been flagged up before, but the Stondon Museum in Bedfordshire is selling it's 1983 HPE VX exhibit.

Details here: http://www.transportmuseum.co.uk/forsale.htm - not sure how current the list is, but the car was still on display as of 14th July.

There's a pic of it here in situ from flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42488154@N02/4793217259/

I'm sure Mr Hilton's been there!

Yes indeed, real wacky private museum with a lot of the work on the cars carried out by volunteers, they have everything there from 3 wheelers to a russian missile launcher, including the missiles!
If there's enough interest I'd be happy to arrange a group Lancia visit, it's only about 4 miles from the A1 where the motorway section from London ends near Baldock, so easy to get to.
I haven't been for about 4 years so I don't know what the condition of the HPE is at present, but if anyone wants an opinion on it's condition I'll go and have a look, probably with 2 of our local Beta stalwarts, Peter Watcham & Peter Dicks.
