Title: Stolen Integrale in Cumbria - please keep an eye out
Post by: fensaddler on 10 July, 2010, 07:16:13 PM
I have been contacted by Cumbria Police, and by the owner of the car, about a red Integrale (presuming Evo2 from the reg), stolen last year.  The reg is K91 HRM and the chassis number is ZLA 831AB000567 and I've asked for any further details to help find it.  Please keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

hi

there is currently a discussion going on at evocorner forum ref a hf turbo that has been bought with the prfix that it has an evo bodykit on, it's looking more and more like it is a genuine evo with id removed, can you pass on any further info regarding the cumbria car (ie full chassis number ) or have a look at the discussion yourself to help out on the evocorner forum.

I've just woken up to this one in Australia and have been contacted by e-mail about it.  I'm going back through e-mail records to see if I have anything more - but I imagine I posted all I had at the time.

OK, I've found the original correspondence with the former owner, and the police officer in Kendal who contacted me.  All I have is the reg no and the chassis number quoted above, plus the colour of the car (red) and that it was stolen in the Kendal area some time earlier in 2010.  I concluded at the time from the reg no that it was likely to be an Evo2.  I have the name of the owner and the investigating police officer at Kendal, and I'll pass these on by e-mail.

I would have thought it's long gone by now and probably broken for spares  ::)

Back in 2010, I advised the police of my view that it would have either ended up abroad, or broken up, as many prestige stolen motors are.  However, stranger things have happened...

chassis number posted on here that you were given is only 14 digits needs to be 17 digits but the big thing that is coming across is that it looks most probable  the car bought off the ebay add is the 8v kat version of the evo.

So unlikely to be the K plater from Cumbria, unless it was a later import (8v cat suggests an import from somewhere like Switzerland?).  Don't know enough about whether DVLA would have issued a plate realted to the year of the car's manufacture, or to the year it was imported, or something else.  I'm trying to locate my evocorner login at the moment.  I don't think I've used it since I left the UK...

I only got 14 digits from the previous owner...

This has developed further!  We now know that the car under discussion on evoforum was NOT the stolen Cumbria car (though it does show many signs of having had its identity changed, and therefore looks very suspicious).  We now know more about the stolen Cumbria car.  It was an Evo1 16v, in winner red, with a sunroof (which rattled).  It had a full stainless manifold and exhaust and replacement alloy locking fuel cap.  It had done about 160,000 km.  The car on evoforum has an 8v kat engine - there is a lot more discussion on the evoforum site if you think you know anything, or are trying to track down a stolen car.

update regarding the evocorner forum car..
As said sadly not the now known to be winner red car from cumbria but still looking very strongly  like it's possibly a stolen monza red j plate 8v (kat) evo from essex area taken around the back end of last year.
As chris has said it's still a great result from the collective lancia community to identify and trace a car which had been tampered with to hide it's origins and then advertsied for sale under a total different disguise on Ebay.

To advise I now have an update on the full VIN of the car originally stolen in Cumbria, which is still missing.  This is ZLA831AB000567968.  Worth continuing to keep an eye out for this.
