Title: Thanks (and apologies) Post by: stuwilson128 on 03 June, 2010, 08:52:13 PM I want to thank those who contacted me following the horrific events in Whitehaven yesterday. It is only today after I had to drive past the gunmans house that the enormity of what has happened really hit me. The majority of the shootings occurred within 5 miles of my house, and the gunman lived about three miles from me - I often drive through Rowrah on my way to Carlisle or Cockermouth and would regularly see him and his taxi.
Like many others in the area, I am trying to come to terms with what has happened - things like this just do not happen here in Cumbria. To that end, if anybody needs to contact me in relation to either forum or committee business, please bear with me and accept my apologies if there is a delay in making any response. I can remember Dunblane, Hungerford, etc, but as I get older, the tragedy seems more and more intense with these events. :(
