Title: D24 blueprints/plans
Post by: fensaddler on 17 March, 2010, 06:11:59 PM
Can anyone help in any way to answer this one?

"I write to you, because i need the plane or blueprint of the tubular frame of LANCIA D24 1953-54, you have this plane?

Thanks for your time

Ivan G. Barbieri"

Does this mean the Russians are about to make a batch of replicas?

The surname Barbieri is not a common one. There is a John Barbieri who is/ was a LMC member and was in the 2000 Register (number 3467) who had a much used and loved Aurelia B20 6 Series. Possibly a connection through him?

The request appears to come from Spain, or another Spanish speaking country, if that checks out at all.

Update - the chap is from Argentina, and wants to build an alloy D24 replica with an Aurelia 2.5 engine.  I don't think there is a connection with our existing membership, but it has the ring of enthusiasm about it....

Hi Chris

May be worth passing on the contact details of Jim Stokes Workshops (see their website) as they have restored /recreated both
D24 and D50. Whether they would be prepared to share information I'm not sure, although I met Jim Stokes at a car show a
few years back( he had a D50 on display), he was very friendly /approachable. Anyway must get back to packing for the GNW!

Regards
Steve

There is always the Rosani D24 book, with a side view of a D20 frame. As to whether anyone is interested in giving out D24 drawings... that's another subject entirely. There is a lot of care taken by Rosani over the years to determine the answers and then make the solutions to the D24 - which was no easy matter.

Probably heresy to some, but if I had the money, I'd love to spaceframe an alloy bodied B20, just for the fun.

Well there was a mid V8 engined drag racer...why not track that one down and restore it to that state.

Build an s2 Corsa? Or a Zagato Aurelia?
