Title: Flaminias wanted
Post by: fensaddler on 08 February, 2010, 04:12:18 PM
Again for a joint feature - Pininfarina, Touring and Zagato examples.  Leads and volunteers please - I'm hopeful because I know we have a number of owners/enthusiasts posting on here, I'm just not sure who has what...!

Chris,

Our President has (or maybe had!) a fabulous Zagato - Flaminia SuperSport, but I don't think he has ever visited the Forum so may not be aware of your appeal.

Colin

I could be wrong, but I think the President has now sold his Flaminia SuperSport.

Hi Guys, I have a Touring bodied 2.8 3c convertible - a right hand drive one.  I would be content to put it forward but need to know when.  I'm off to France for two weeks on wednesday.

Chris

I'll email the complete list of U.K. Flaminias - don't know what condition they are all in though!

Yes the president did sell the Super Sport. Here's a pic of it taken in the late eighties when I owned it photographed with other Zagato bodied Lancias for a group test for Classic & Sportscar.

There was a lovely sedan at Covent Garden a year or so back. It should be possible to track down if you want the full set.

I do!  I have the list of cars in the club and their owners, and I'm in the process of contacting them to see what we can pull together...

Chris, the sedan was AAS 718, an early one in Lancia blue with the whacky internal and external rear wipers.

Good hunting.

Chris,

I still have contact details of all the Covent Garden cars and their then owners. Let me know what you still want.

Not much help, but while we're talking about Flaminias, there's a lovely white Coupe featured in the Flickr Lancia Automobili group : http://www.flickr.com/groups/lancia/pool/

Frank - thank you, that will be a useful cross reference with the list I have.  Colin, yes please, likewise as per my comments to Frank.

Chris,

I don’t think the Flaminia Sedan/ Berlina at Covent Garden is still in the same ownership. What other variants do you need?

Colin

I'm hoping to pull together all four - Sedan, Touring, PF and Zagato - but it looks as though we have a Touring.  Probably Oxon/Gloucs area, looking like March, if that helps.

I have just sent you an off-form email with some possibilities.

Chris,

Just thought I should check - did you ever receive my off-forum email on 18 February, which ended with:

"Let me know if any of this, or none of this helps!

Good luck"

It did, very much, and thank you!  I now have commitments of both a Touring Coupe and Convertible, a PF and a Zagato.  I also have a lead on a saloon, but the owner is the son of a very well known businessman and I'm a little trepidatious about ringing him...  Our journalistic friend no longer owns one...

If the berlina is the same one I mentioned to you, then I can tell you how to approach it… see off-forum email.

I'm assuming the new set of Flaminia photos from Michael Ward are what we've been talking about above. This is a fantastic selection of images (on flickr) of 3 very beautiful cars. Scroll right from the first pic this link will take you to for the complete set.

Yes - this is the outcome of this request.  Absolutely knocked out by those photos.  I gather a great time was had by all, and I hope all three owners are as pleased with those photos as I am.
