We get together on the forth wednesday of the month at about 8:30pm. It would be great to see soon new faces & some different Lancias !! Cheers, Rob Macfarlane

Given that the 4th Wednesday is between Christmas and the New Year, we were talking about meeting on the 3rd Wednesday in December - 20th, I believe.

So, anyone who lives within driving distance, or anyone who's passing - drop by and join us for a natter. We mostly run"Fiats" but all are welcome!!  :D

Sorry to all for not making it on the 20th. Sudden burst of speed from my solicitor and I moved house on the 21st. So, I spent the 20th doing my final packing.

I see you're now in Bath :) ... and if the picture shows the car parked outside of the Royal Crescent then I'm very impressed !

Look forward to seeing you on the 24th ...

I'll be there. I'm blowing the cobwebs off the Dedra at the moment, in preparation for Goodwood. I'm pleased she started first time despite having been garaged for two months!

Hi, Just thought I'd let you all know what we got up to at the last meet (25/4/07) at the Compass Inn in Tormartin. After some really good turn outs over the last 3 to 4 months this months meet was a bit quiet one with Simon, Steve, Ben & myself. Only Ben turned up in a Lancia, his trusty Y10. Last month we had 2 guys from the Alfa Romeo owners club turn up to see if any of us fancied joining them for a drive around the Cotswolds & a bite to eat. Which got us thinking that we have'nt done anything like that for quite a few years. So we thought a drive to the Haynes museum & some tasty italian grub would go down well with a lot of people, what do you think? Anyway better get on with cleaning the car for saturdays Bristol Auto Moto see you there. Cheers, Rob MacFarlane

I haven't been to the Haynes museum for a few years but from memory it's a good day out. I'd be up for the trip, dependent only on whether I have my daughters for the chosen weekend. They like my Dedra (especially on full boost), but aren't sufficiently interested in cars in general to suffer 4 hours of looking at them...

To be fair I would have been there in the 'grale if it wasn't for Saturday :) Did you not admire my trusty passat ? ;)

Nothing wrong with your Passat Steve, it's just that your 'Grale' is far more interesting & a lot more handsome. Still I can't say much, the last time I brought my Delta HF ie to the monthly meeting was nearly 5 years ago! Cheers, Rob Mac

I'm getting slack in co-ordinating my social life. Sorry for not being able to make it last night, and I'm away for next month's meeting.
We talked about an outing to the Haynes Museum at some point in the summer. Has anybody volunteered to arrange this yet? If not, shall I?

Harvey,

I was going to organise the trip to Haynes motor museum, was thinking of September but after seeing the events schedule thought about moving it into October.

Days event would be to meet up at the tea house on the A46 by Dyrham Park, make your way to Ilchester for Sunday lunch at an Italian Resuarent (if I can arrange it) then on to the Haynes Motor museum.

Regards

Simon

Just a HUP !

... and a reminder that we decided to be radical and meet at 7pm next week for a drive prior drinking ! :D

Ben is due to provide a route, let's hope the thunderstorms have stopped ...

... just to let all the Bristol Babbers know I've managed to get the mud off the car - except underneath the engine where I can see it stuck on the bolts :)

Great route tho ... not often you get to drive down a lane requiring all headlights on in the middle of the day (it was quite enclosed with trees!)

The water feature was good too ...

From those who remembered Ben's invitation for a blast around the country lanes, A big thank you.

Also thanks to my driver Steve and his spiritly driven Evo2 for a great ride, it would have been a pity to take the everyday drive (Focus TDCi).

Hi there, well the Bristol meeting continues to go from strength to strength, at the last meeting there was Simon, Richard, Steve, Harvey, Mark, Peter, Ben, Andy, Terry, Antony & his Dad Antonio. Harvey's organising a Christmas dinner in Thornbury which is filling up quickly so if you fancy going you'd better hurry up. I'd like to wish everyone at the Bristol Meet & all lovers of Lancia a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New year. Cheers, Rob MacFarlane

Yep, Mark Lima was our flying guest from Surrey for the evening. I think I counted 4 Lancias in the car park, which isn't bad: Terry's Dedra, Richard's Integrale, Ben's Y10 and my Ypsilon. Quite a mix!

Also there was Pete, Tony, Simon, Harvey, Antonio & his son Tony. Most of the talk was around the Goodwood track day which everyone enjoyed especially the two Steves! I had a good time at the last meeting (at the Compass). We had a new member turn up, Marcus in his Beta Coupe. The car used to belong to Russ Smith who writes for Classic Car Weekly & is in very good condition. Also there was Terry, Simon, Steve, Harvey, Antonio, Tony & later on Ben who bought me a pint (good man!). Antonio brought along a couple of interesting models - an Aurelia & an Aprilia that ran on methane! Cheers for now. Rob

Simon Davis & his 1.8 Dedra ie, Richard Carr & Evo 1  K2 POO are also shown,  L585 HAN was my first Thema series 3 2.0 16v Le Vis Auto. Have a feeling that might have been at Himley Hall. must have been about 1998 when I lived in the wye Valley and belonged to the Bristol Group, Paul Harris? used to run the group at the time, met him at the AGM the other week, first time I've seen him in about 10 years.

The photos are from a Winter night meet at the Compass Inn 2000-2001, the Silver Elefantino Rosso was mine that I just bought new from Rotterdam, & the Red one belonged to Garry Mason who bought his Rosso from the same Dealer after seeing mine had convinced him that was what he wanted.

Yes it is! As you can see the photo was taken in 2001 & I took her off the road the following year. I've been doing a bit of work on the Delta lately, I've welded 2 sections into the front inner wings last week & started repairing the roof which looks like it's going to be a lot of work!!!! Cheers, Rob

He never used to come in anything else up to when I moved!  I think at the time he was running it as his company car, but grabbing one from the car pool if he had to go any distance ;D

Hi everyone, just thought I'd say what a great day I had at the Classic car Show (NEC) on saturday. It was great to see the new Delta on our stand & have a proper look round & sit inside, I was really impressed by the styling although I felt it should have had a few styling cues from the earlier Deltas to give it the feel of an evolution of the original design but that's me being a bit picky  ;). The rest of the stand was a tasty mix of old & new, Don Williamson's Lambda limousine was absolutly stunning the standard of finish on the interior & the bodywork was perfect. I also enjoyed seeing the little Appia Pininfarina Coupe, not a car you see very often even in Lancia circles. The Monte boys seemed to be having a good laugh on their stand dressed up in cool seventies suits, they looked like they'd been auditioning for the Sweeney! The Beta Boyz had a very nice selection of Betas on display, it was good to see Andy's saloon in such fine fettle & Marcus's coupe looked very classy in its' dark green body work. Thanks must go to Simon Davis for giving me lift in his lovely 159 saloon & getting a good discount on the entry fee  ;D. Cheers for now, Rob

Well it was another enjoyable evening at the Compass this wednesday, Steve was oranising the Christmas meal which is next saturday (Dec 6th). Also present was Peter (Aurelia), Terry (Dedra), Harvey (Ypsilon), Antonio (Thema), Tony, Andy (Beta Salon), Simon, Pete & Tony. A lot of the chat centered around the NEC Classic Car Show & the new Delta, many of us wondering if they'll actually sale over here in right hand drive. Next year's looking busy for some of Andy's Lancias with his Beta Salon at the Bristol Auto Moto then his early series 1 Delta 1500 & Beta Salon at the NEC Classic Car Show. See you at the La Bruschetta Thornbury. ;) Cheers, Rob

Hi, our meeting at the Compass Inn on wednesday evening was busy again  ;D. We had a really good turn out as usual. Steve Pilgrim & Harvey were sorting out the the membership forum on Harvey's laptop (well I think that's what they doing  ???). Terry Pritchard was talking of thining his Lancia fleet down to something a bit more manageble! Andy Collins was showing us all the article on his Lancias in the Classic Car Mart which covered about 3 pages (he's got quite a few!). Also there was Simon Davis, Richard Carr, Antonio, Tony, Pete & a guy from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club whose name escapes me. If there are are any other Lancisti in the Bristol or the surrounding area your more than welcome to come along  ;). Cheers, Rob
