A beta with a Trevi interior (LHD) but with a photo of a RHD car taken at an LMC bash being sold in Belgium ???

I guess someone will recognise the car - is it true or false ?

That was the late Andy Batchelors car in the pics. I thought it had been sold to a uk enthusiast about 4 months ago.

Being pedantic ( not that I have EVER been accused of being pedantic before) the car is a Beta S3 saloon. The Trevi was launched after the Beta 3, (which had the new dash, the revised front end etc) so whereas the Beta 3 is oten call the Beta "Trevidash" saloon, in practice the Trevi should be known as the Trevi "Beta3dash".

I'll go back into my hole now!

Andy

Well, you learn something new every day  ;D

It would seem to be true then - funny how it has ended up in Belgium.

Cheers

Best market must be the UK, but at five grand that seems very rich indeed, however good it is...  Fair price Andy, or steep?

Just spoke to Andy's widow Pam, and she is unaware that it had been put up for sale.
I put it for sale on this forum last year for her, and I think Pam wanted about £3000 for it but no one wanted to Pay that much for it, even though it was in beautiful restored condition.
Pam let someone have it who she thought was going to keep it :'(

I've just spoken to Jason who bought the car in the picture from Andy Batchelor's widow a few months ago.. He was totally unaware that the car is advertised on this website. It is firmly parked up in his garage and most definately NOT for sale.

He is very upset that Andy's widow might think that it is for sale and will be contacting her directly to put her mind at rest.

So, that beggars the question... it someone pulling a scam, or has someone just taken a pic off the web of a Beta 3 to show what it looks like??

Andy

Well the sellor has 4 others items for sale on Anamera. He can probably be contacted via the "Inquire" button - it gives an e-mail address that looks feasable. If it is an honest mistake I am sure he will put it right. If not...........

Pleased that's sorted as Pam was a bit upset about it: thinking about it I reported something similar just after we got back from Turin in 2006, a friend in Amsterdam informed me that my Fulvia Berlina was for sale on a Milanese website, I emailed the seller and the site asking what the heck my car was  doing avertised for sale on the site, I didn't get an answer but it was promptly removed .

Good result, although the upset was unpleasant.

I have noticed that my car was shown in an integrale advert (not for sale, just shown)- but only as it appears in wikipedia and the advert included the wikipedia page...

However, this leads me to make a serious point about the online system in that at least members that spot cars for sale which look dubious would be able to contact the member who currently owns it ... my thought for the day ...

Hi Steve,
Which is why we need the system you are working on so we can check who the owner is, something not possible at present. :D
